Why do I have to pay tax?
Any credit reporting business must legally collect sales tax, plus any local (city, county, special purpose district or transit) tax, on the total amount billed for the credit reporting service, including any dues or other fees charged.
What do I pay tax on?
You should pay tax on all materials, supplies and equipment used to perform the service.
Explain to me reselling a credit report tax detail?
At times, we may subcontract with a third party for a credit report. The third party will bill us. Then, in turn, will bill you as the customer. We may give the third party a resale certificate in lieu of paying tax on the service. We will then collect tax from you (our customer) on the total charge.
I’m out-of-state, do I have to pay tax?
Even if you are not based in Texas (where we are), tax is due on your credit reporting service if the address of the credit applicant at the time of the request for a report in Texas, and the person who requested the credit report is located in Texas or is doing business in Texas.

Can I apply for credit while using a Clean My Credit service?
Yes. We can’t stop you - it’s your credit! But be aware that this will impact your credit score. This is because applying for new credit adds new inquiries to your credit report. Can you remove late payments from my credit report?
It’s possible but it depends on the circumstance. Clean My Credit will battle (on your behalf) and share key knowledge to help remove incorrect late payments.
Can repossessions be removed from a credit report?
It’s possible but it depends on the circumstance. If Clean My Credit can prove that the debt is inaccurate, unfair or unsubstantiated, then the credit bureaus can remove the repossession from your credit reports.
Can you remove a foreclosure from a credit report?
- Your credit report shows inaccurate information associated with the foreclosure
- Your foreclosure is too old to be still on your credit report.
- You receive a voluntary dismissal of the foreclosure.
